Martijn Snoep
Carbon Project Manager

Martijn holds a M.Sc. degree in Forest and Nature Conservation with a specialization in Forest and Nature Conservation Policy from Wageningen University. One of the key areas during his studies was carbon forestry. He worked for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture on the management of government subsidies and switched back to carbon forestry in 2006 when he joined the Face Foundation and later on Face the Future.

Tasila Banda PhD.
Carbon Project Manager

Tasila holds a PhD. in Conservation Ecology which was focussed on the effects of land protection strategies on forest conservation. She has a Masters degree in Environmental Resource Management and Bachelors in Natural Resource Management. Tasila’s experiences within Face include: Project Document development, coordination of carbon monitoring activities, development of carbon monitoring reports, coordination of the carbon validation and verification activities and carrying out forest carbon feasibility studies.

Charonne Holder
Office Manager & Communications coördinator

Charonne holds a bachelor's degree in International Communication Management and has a strong background in Consulting, Projectmanagement and Copywriting. With the role of Office Manager, Charonne is responsible for the (financial) administration, operational processes as well as the daily management of the Head Office in Rotterdam. Alongside this role, she also steers the management, design and implementation of the Marketing & Communications processes of Face the Future.

Justin Whalen
Carbon Project Manager

Justin joined Face the Future in 2010. He received his Masters of Science in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh and specialized in forest carbon risk management. Prior to joining Face the Future, he spent nine years working in the reforestation industry in a variety of roles, personally planting over one million trees across Canada. Justin also has sales and business development experience and contributes to Face the Future’s commercial strategy.

Kars Riemer
Consultant

Kars joined Face the Future in 2012 as a consultant. He holds a Master of Science in Forest and Nature Management from Wageningen University with specialization in Forestry Economics and Environmental Policy. Previously he has been working as a GIS and remote sensing specialist delivering monitoring and reporting services in the agricultural sector.

Wouter van Goor
Consultant

Wouter is a terrestrial ecologist, with a professional background in remote sensing and GIS. He holds a B.Sc. in Tropical Forestry, a M.Sc. degree in Forest and Nature Conservation and specialized in resource ecology. He spent five years as a project manager and remote sensing specialist working on land use/cover classification, forest monitoring, REDD baseline development and various spatial risk assessments. As an ecologist, he has gained experience in vegetation- and wildlife monitoring, environmental management and complex data analysis. Wouter joined the consultancy team of Face the Future in 2012

Latin American Office (Profafor), Quito, Ecuador

Luis Fernando Jara
General Manager

Luis acts as the General Manager and legal representative of the Profafor. He has a bachelor in forestry and a Master´s degree en Forest Genetics and has professional experience of almost 40 years in tropical silviculture, forest genetics, forest and carbon certification and forest carbon projects. He has been working in PROFAFOR since 1999 on the design, formulation and implementation of A/R forest carbon and REDD projects under the voluntary market. In the past twelve years, he has worked intensively with indigenous communities in forest and carbon certification and reduction of emissions.

Roxana Fernández
Accountant and Auditor

Roxana has extensive experience with international and national NGOs. She is responsible for the financial and administrative management of the company. Roxana provides information regarding the operations of the company's past, present and future, compiling, designing and making accounting reports and additional reports to promote proper financial management seeking the highest return on equity of the company in the short, medium and long term.

Angel Sánchez
Forest Engineer

Ángel has a Master's degree in Social Sciences majoring in Local Development and Territory. He is responsible for the monitoring and technical assistance of PROFAFOR forest plantations in the highlands of Ecuador. He also supports the design and implementation of REDD projects concerning the social component. He was a research associate under the agreement between the Loja National University and the University of Aarhus, Denmark and member of the Program “Train trainers of the Ecuadorian Agroforestry Network”.

María Belén Herrera
Engineer

María Belén is an Engineer in Geographic Science and Sustainable Development with emphasis in Territorial Zonation with a Master´s Degree on Environmental Management (in course). She has experience on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), on mapping database, land use changes analysis, mitigation through satellite images. She supports the elaboration of proposals for the design and development of forest carbon projects (A/R CDM) and REDD initiatives

Marisol Gutiérrez
Secretary & assistant to General Manager

Marisol works as secretary and general manager assistant. She is the first person that clients contact at PROFAFOR. She has an excellent talent to treat clients and take their seed or technical requirements. Marisol supports all PROFAFOR staff on the logistics for travelling and for the organization of technical events. She also has to deal with invoicing, tax retentions, and payments to providers, elaboration of economical seed proposals and she supports the financial and administrative Direction.

Roberto Rojas
Staff support

Roberto works basically in supporting all company´s technical staff in their achievements but mostly for the administrative issues, such as mail delivery, bank deposits and tax payments, delivery of forest seeds and hidrokeeper to clients out of Quito, warehouse management, company´s cars maintenance and registration.

Pablo Mogrovejo
Forest Engineer

Pablo has a degree in Sustainable Development and Climate Change, and has more than 10 years of professional experience in forestry and environmental issues. His main activities are conducting monitoring and technical assistance to forestation contracts funded by PROFAFOR- Face the Future in the highlands of Ecuador. He also gives assistance and technical support in forest inventory and estimation of carbon stocks for A/R forest carbon projects and REDD projects in the Amazon of Ecuador.
